Chapter 1
The obsidian walls of the ancestral citadel held the damp chill of a dying world. Zara stood at the arched window, her palms flat against the cold stone. The muscular lines of her back, armored in its natural, dark-scaled hide, flexed with barely-contained tension. From the neck down her front was soft, human skin, pale as moonlight against the violent red of her hair. Behind her, Lena watched, a mirror in age and experience. Her own powerful form, the same pattern of rough, protective scales covering her back and limbs, was a monument to survival. Their matching blue eyes, glacial and serious, reflected the same starless sky.
“He arrives before the next moon,” Lena’s voice was low, a vibration in the silent chamber. It wasn’t fear they felt, but the profound weight of a final duty. The Kylothian gene pool had dwindled to a whisper. Zara, at the cusp of maturity, was the last unmated female of their direct lineage. Without new blood, their kind would end with them.
The obstacle was not desire, but biology. Human males were… soft. Fragile. Unprepared for the Kylothian truth of joining.
**Cole** was not what Zara expected. He filled the doorway of the receiving hall, his human stature somehow imposing despite being level with her eyes. He was broad, his shoulders straining the fabric of his simple tunic, a dense pelt of brown hair covering a strong jaw. His eyes, a piercing hazel, swept over her with an unnerving stillness that missed nothing—the contrast of her soft front against the scaled armor of her sides, the coiled strength in her limbs.
“Lena,” he nodded, his voice a gravelly baritone. His gaze lingered on Zara. “Zara.” He said her name like a fact, not a question.
Lena stepped forward, her movement a study in predatory grace. “You understand the terms, Carter. The alliance. The… necessity.”
“I understand survival,” he replied, his eyes never leaving Zara. A confident, almost arrogant smile touched his lips. “And I’m not afraid of a little roughness.”
The tension in the room shifted, crystallizing. It was in the way he held his ground, the dominant, unspoken challenge in his posture. He knew. He knew what they were, and he was not deterred. The simmering atmosphere crackled with a new, dangerous electricity. This was not a negotiation with a timid outsider. This was the prelude to a collision.
Zara felt a strange, hot coil tighten low in her belly. Her Kylothian nature, a dormant beast beneath her human skin, stirred at his unflinching gaze. The brutal, physical truth of what was to come no longer seemed like a sterile obligation. In Cole’s fearless confidence, she sensed the first spark of the raw, extreme crucible their mating would demand. The citadel’s chill receded, replaced by the gathering heat of a primal storm.
Chapter 2
Cole’s arrogant smile didn’t falter as Lena’s voice cut through the charged silence. She stepped from the archway’s shadow, her scaled back catching the dim light. Her blue eyes, identical to her daughter’s, were hard as gemstones.
“This ends here,” Lena stated, her voice leaving no room for argument. She positioned herself between Cole and Zara. “You speak of roughness, human. But you do not know. My daughter is untouched. The Kylothian way is not a gentle joining. It is a claiming. A fight. If you cannot dominate one of us, you will break her, and our line ends with her scream.”
Cole’s hazel eyes flicked from Zara to Lena, assessing. “So, what’s the test?”
“You prove your strength on me,” Lena said, her chin lifting. “You take me. In the Kylothian fashion. All of it. If you can make me submit, you are worthy of her.”
A low, dark laugh rumbled in Cole’s chest. “You’re offering yourself as a warm-up?”
“I am offering you a trial by combat,” Lena corrected, her voice a blade’s edge. “Or you can leave now.”
Cole’s answer was movement. He closed the distance in two swift strides, his hand snapping out to fist in Lena’s red hair. He didn’t ask. He didn’t hesitate. “We do it now,” he growled, yanking her head back to expose the soft, vulnerable column of her throat. “And we do it my way.”
Zara stood frozen, a storm of shock and a terrible, unwelcome heat churning in her gut as she watched her mother struggle. Lena was powerful, her scaled limbs coiling, but Cole was a force of pure, brutal intent. He drove her forward, bending her over the stone ledge of the window. The cold air bit into Lena’s soft front as Cole’s hands shoved her tunic up, baring her full ass. One broad hand pinned her shoulder blades against her armored hide.
“You want a test?” Cole snarled, fumbling with his trousers. His cock sprang free, already thick and flushed. It was human, but intimidating in its rigid, veined demand. He didn’t prepare her. He spat into his palm, slicked himself once, and positioned his blunt head against her forbidden pussy, untouched for years. “Here’s your fucking test.”
He slammed into her.
Lena’s cry was torn from her—a sharp, guttural sound of protest and shocking fullness. Her scaled hands scraped against the obsidian as he began to pound into her, each deep, punishing stroke a violent invasion. “No! Not like this—!” she gasped, but her struggle only seemed to fuel him.
“You said take you,” Cole grunted, his hips a relentless piston. His other hand moved down, fingers digging into the cleft of her ass. “You didn’t specify where.” Without withdrawing, he forced a thick finger into her tighter, unprepared back hole alongside his driving cock.
Lena’s body bowed, a strangled scream caught in her throat. Zara watched, her own pussy clenching in a sympathetic, horrified spasm. This was not a mating. This was a breaking.
After a brutal, breathless minute of filling her cunt, Cole pulled out, his cock glistening with her wetness. He shifted the weeping head to her other entrance, the tight, clenched pucker he’d just violated with his finger. “Two,” he grunted, echoing her demand. He pressed forward, a conqueror taking forbidden ground.
The resistance was fierce. Lena screamed, a raw, animal sound of pure violation as he breached her, stretching her brutally open. He fucked her ass with the same ruthless, driving rhythm, his balls slapping against her soaked pussy lips. Zara could see the tears streaking her mother’s face, could see the way her powerful body was forced to accept each searing inch.
When he finally pulled from her ass, he didn’t stop. He turned her head roughly to the side, his cock, wet and filthy from both holes, nudged against her parted, panting lips. “Three,” he commanded, his voice thick with impending release. “Open.”
Defeated, overwhelmed, Lena opened her mouth. He shoved his length deep down her throat, fucking her face with short, brutal thrusts. His grip in her hair was iron. His hips stuttered, his breath coming in ragged grunts.
“Take it all, you scaled bitch,” he snarled, and with a final, deep grind into her throat, he climaxed. Hot, salty pulses flooded her mouth, spilling past her lips as he held her there, shuddering with his release.
He finally pulled back, his softening cock slipping from her bruised lips. Lena collapsed against the ledge, gasping, her body used and trembling. Cole looked over at Zara, his hazel eyes blazing with primal victory. “Your turn,” he breathed, the promise raw and absolute in the silent chamber.
Chapter 3
Cole’s eyes, still blazing with the victory over her mother, pinned Zara where she stood. Lena’s ragged breaths filled the silence. Before Zara could process the violation, Cole was on her.
He moved with predatory speed, his powerful hands closing like manacles around her upper arms, his fingers digging into the tough, alligator-scaled hide. He used his own momentum and her shock to spin her around.
“Your turn, little dragon,” he growled, his voice thick and raw.
He shoved her forward, bending her over the same cold stone ledge. One hand planted between her shoulder blades, pressing her soft, vulnerable front against the unforgiving obsidian. The other gripped her hip, his fingers splaying over the rough texture of her lower back. He kicked her legs apart with his boot, forcing her into a rough, exposed doggy style position. The cool air kissed her naked ass and the untouched lips of her pussy, making her gasp.
She felt the thick, insistent head of his cock, still wet from her mother, press against her virgin entrance. There was no preparation, no gentle breach. Only the terrifying, thrilling promise of his dominance.
“You wanted brutal Kylothian mating?” Cole snarled, leaning his weight over her, his beard scratching the sensitive scales of her neck. “I’ll give you human breeding with a knot that locks you to me until I’m done.”
With a single, brutal thrust, he took her virginity.
Zara cried out, a sharp, ragged sound of pain and shocking fullness as he sheathed himself completely inside her. The stretch was immense, burning, a tearing claim that made her muscles clamp down in instinctive protest. He was bigger, harder, than she had imagined any human could be.
“Fuck,” Cole groaned, his hips flush against her ass. “So fucking tight. Like a virgin fist around my cock.” He didn’t pause. He began to move, setting a punishing, deep rhythm that shoved her forward with every drive. Each withdrawal was a cruel tease, each slam back home a conquest.
“Is this brutal enough for you?” he grunted, his hand moving from her hip to fist in her red hair, yanking her head back. “You feel that? That’s human breeding. I’m gonna plant my seed so deep in your hybrid cunt, it’ll take root. You’ll swell with it.”
The pain was already blurring, transforming into a searing, overwhelming heat that coiled tighter with every raw stroke. Her inner walls, so unfamiliar with invasion, began to cling to him, to milk the invading length. A filthy, wet sound accompanied their joining.
“Yes… oh, fuck, yes…” Zara heard herself moan, the admission torn from her. Her Kylothian nature, the beast that demanded a fierce mate, roared its approval at his ruthless possession.
“That’s it,” Cole rasped, his tempo becoming frantic, animalistic. “Take it. Take my cock. Take my seed.” His thrusts lost all rhythm, becoming shallow, desperate pistons. He buried himself to the hilt, his body locking against hers. A guttural, victorious roar tore from his throat as he came.
Hot, pulsating jets of his release flooded her deepest channel, marking her, claiming her. He held himself there, throbbing, pouring into her until she felt a phantom fullness, a human imitation of the Kylothian knot he’d promised. He slumped over her scaled back, his breath hot and ragged against her skin, his weight a final, anchoring testament to his conquest.
Slowly, he softened and slipped from her well-used pussy, a trickle of his cum following. He turned her head, his hazel eyes holding hers, fierce and satisfied. “It’s done,” he stated, the words a solemn vow. “You’re mine now. And our line continues.”
Chapter 4
A low, resonant growl echoed through the chamber, seeming to vibrate from the very stones. It did not come from Cole, but from deep within the two Kylothian women themselves. Zara felt it first—a primal tremor that began in her core and rippled outward, making the thick, alligator-like scales along her back, arms, and legs flush with a sudden, radiant heat. Beside her, Lena gasped, her own scaled hide shimmering with the same internal fire.
Their bodies moved as one, no longer stiff or resistant. They arched toward Cole, their soft fronts pressing against his hard torso, their scaled backs undulating in a shared, instinctual rhythm.
“What… is this?” Cole asked, his voice a hushed rumble, his hands coming up to cradle the heated scales of their backs.
“The memory… is awake,” Lena breathed, her blue eyes hazy with ancient knowledge. She turned her head, nuzzling into his palm. “One claiming is not enough for our kind. The seed must be… reinforced. The bond must be sealed through repetition. Our bodies demand it.”
Zara pressed her lips to the strong column of his throat. “Please, Cole,” she whispered, the words a desperate, hungry plea. “Breed us again. Fill us. We need it.”
The raw dominance from before melted into a focused, shared purpose. Cole’s hazel eyes darkened with possessive affection. “You’ll both get what you need,” he promised, his voice thick.
He guided Lena down first onto the thick furs before the cold hearth. She went willingly, spreading her legs, her body open and yearning. He knelt between her thighs, his hardened cock finding her wet, welcoming entrance with a single smooth stroke. She cried out, but this time it was pure, unadulterated relief.
“Yes! Oh, gods, yes… right there,” Lena chanted, her scaled legs wrapping around his waist, pulling him deeper with each powerful thrust. “Give it to me, Cole. All of it.”
He fucked her with a vigorous, deep rhythm, each drive a deliberate planting. “Gonna give you another load, Lena,” he grunted, his pace quickening. “Gonna make sure it takes.”
Lena’s climax crashed over her first. Her body convulsed around his invading length, her inner walls fluttering violently as she screamed his name, her scaled back arching off the furs. Her release triggered his. With a roar, Cole buried himself to the hilt, his hips stuttering as he emptied another hot, thick pulse of his seed deep into her fertile channel. He held there, panting, as she milked him with soft, aftershock clenches.
Without full softening, he withdrew, his cock glistening. He turned to Zara, who was watching with feverish anticipation. He didn’t speak, just pulled her to him, kissing her deeply as he laid her back. She guided him inside, sighing as he filled her once-more tender flesh.
“You feel that, Zara?” he murmured against her lips, his thrusts starting slow, then building into a relentless, breeding pace. “This is for you. This is for your future.”
“I feel it! I feel you!” she cried, her hands clutching at his shoulders. The heat in her scales was nothing compared to the inferno in her core. She met every thrust, her hips rolling, taking him impossibly deep. “Don’t stop… please, don’t ever stop!”
Their joined rhythm became frantic, a slippery, pounding dance of mutual need. Cole’s control shattered. “Take it! Take my fucking seed!” he bellowed, slamming home as his release erupted, a scalding flood that seemed to reach her very womb. Zara shattered with him, her own climax a silent, breathless convulsion of perfect, overwhelming completion.
He collapsed upon her, then rolled, gathering both women against him. Their scaled skin, still warm, pressed against his sides. In the quiet, their rapid breaths slowly calmed, bound now by more than duty—by biology, by need, and by the first fragile thread of a shared, relentless affection.
Chapter 5
The shared heat between them was a living thing. It did not fade, but pulsed hotter with each breath. Lena broke the stillness first. She pushed herself up onto her knees, her curvy body swaying, and crawled to where Cole sat propped against the wall.
“It’s not enough,” she whispered, her voice ragged with need. Her hands, with their rough-scaled backs, cupped her own full, soft breasts, offering them. “The memory burns, Cole. It demands more. Please… take what you need. Use me.”
A low groan escaped Cole as he leaned forward, his mouth latching onto one taut nipple. He didn’t suckle gently; he nipped and bit, his teeth applying a delicious, sharp pressure that made Lena cry out.
“Yes! Bite me! Mark me!” she begged, her fingers tangling in his brown hair, holding him to her. “Then mount me again. I need to feel you breed me. I need it more than air!”
From the other side, Zara watched, a coil of pure desperation tightening in her gut. The sight of her mother being used, being wanted so openly, ignited a fierce, possessive jealousy. She scrambled forward on the furs, her blue eyes wild.
“No! Me next!” Zara demanded, her voice sharp. She grabbed Cole’s arm, trying to pull his attention. “You promised me a line. Breed *me* again! It’s my right!”
Lena snarled, a purely feral sound, and shoved at her daughter’s shoulder. “You had your turn! My body screams for it now! He will fill *me*!”
“Enough!” Cole’s voice cut through their fight, a whip-crack of command that froze them both. He released Lena’s breast, a red mark blooming on the pale skin. His hazel eyes glinted with dominant intent. “You want to fight? Then you’ll share.” He pointed at Lena. “You. Get between her legs. Eat her pussy until she screams. Now.”
A fresh wave of desperate lust washed over Lena’s defiance. With a hungry whimper, she obeyed, shoving Zara onto her back and diving between her muscular thighs. Her tongue, hot and seeking, laved a rough stripe over Zara’s slick, swollen lips.
“Oh, fuck!” Zara gasped, her head falling back as her mother’s mouth devoured her.
As Lena feasted, Cole moved behind her, positioning his thick, hard cock at her dripping entrance. With one powerful thrust, he buried himself back inside her waiting channel.
Lena screamed against Zara’s pussy, the dual sensation of tasting her daughter and being brutally filled overwhelming her. Cole set a brutal, pounding rhythm, fucking Lena deep and hard as she ate Zara out.
“That’s it,” Cole grunted, his hands gripping Lena’s scaled hips. “Make her come on your tongue while I breed you.”
Zara’s climax hit first, a silent, breathless convulsion that arched her off the furs. Her pussy fluttered wildly against her mother’s relentless tongue. The feel of Zara’s release pushed Lena over the edge. She came with a muffled shriek, her cunt milking Cole’s driving cock in violent, gripping waves.
“Now switch!” Cole ordered, pulling his slick cock from Lena’s quivering body.
He didn’t wait, rolling Lena onto her back and spreading her legs. He sheathed himself inside her once more in a single, claiming stroke. As he began to piston into her, he looked at Zara, her face glistening with her mother’s spendings. “Your turn. Taste her while she takes my seed.”
Zara, mindless with renewed need, crawled forward. She lowered her mouth to her mother’s soaked folds, lapping at Cole’s cock as it plunged in and out, tasting their brutal union.
The filthy symphony of wet sounds, ragged pleas, and slapping skin filled the chamber. Cole’s thrusts became erratic, animalistic.
“Gonna fill her!” he roared, slamming home as his own climax tore through him. Hot, thick ropes of cum flooded Lena’s depths as he held himself locked inside her, pumping his seed deep.
He finally collapsed, spent, but the ritual was complete. They lay tangled, breathless, scaled skin against human, bound by a primal satisfaction deeper than any treaty. The line would continue.
Chapter 6
The last shudders of their shared, brutal satisfaction faded into the quiet of the chamber. The three bodies lay entwined, slick with sweat and spendings, the pungent scent of sex and musk hanging thick in the air. A deep, sated warmth spread through Zara’s limbs, and for a fleeting moment, she felt a profound connection, her hand resting on her mother’s scaled thigh, her head pillowed on Cole’s chest.
Then Lena shifted, a possessive murmur escaping her as she nuzzled deeper into Cole’s other side. “He filled me so deep,” she sighed, the words a lazy purr. “I can still feel his seed, hot inside me.”
The warm feeling in Zara’s chest curdled into a sharp, green spike. “You were just a vessel,” Zara snapped, her voice cutting through the peace. She propped herself up on an elbow, glaring. “He promised me the first line. My womb is younger. It will hold his claim stronger.”
Lena’s blue eyes flew open, flashing with instant fury. “You arrogant girl,” she hissed, sitting up. The furs fell from her full breasts. “My body has survived decades of barrenness. It *hungers* for his child. You think your untried flesh is somehow superior?”
“I think he looks at me when he spills,” Zara shot back, her own nakedness feeling like a weapon.
“Enough!” Cole’s command was low, but it vibrated with a force that silenced their snarling. He sat up, his muscular frame a wall between them. His hazel eyes were hard. “Look at each other. Really look. You were a unit. A fortress. What is this?”
“This is our nature!” Lena cried, her voice breaking. “The need doesn’t just vanish because we’re full! It twists! It makes me want to claw her eyes out for the way you taste her!”
“And it makes me want to break your neck for the way you scream for him,” Zara admitted, the confession shocking her with its truth.
Cole grabbed Lena’s chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. “You brought me here. You tested my strength, knowing what it would awaken in your blood. You shouldn’t have tested me if you knew this would happen.”
A tear traced a path through the drying sweat on Lena’s cheek. “I had a burning need,” she whispered, her defiance crumbling into despair. “A need I had buried for twenty cold years. When I saw you, it erupted. I could not stop it.”
His grip softened to a caress. Then he turned to Zara, his other hand cupping her face. “And you. You fought her for every scrap of my attention, like a starving pup. Do you remember who taught you to hunt? Who held you when the citadel storms shook the stones? That bond is your true strength. Not this jealous poison.”
He pulled them both closer, until their foreheads touched, a tense, scaled and soft-skinned triangle. “The heat will return. The need will burn. And when it does, you will come to me *together*. You will share my cock without fighting for it. You will take my seed as the last daughters of Kyloth, not as rivals.”
His words were a command, but his thumbs stroked their cheeks with a rough tenderness. The jealous fire in Zara’s gut didn’t extinguish, but it banked, soothed by the memory he invoked—of Lena’s patient guidance, of shared laughter in the endless dark. She saw the same conflict in her mother’s eyes, the biological imperative warring with a lifetime of love.
Cole laid back, pulling them down to rest against him. “Now, sleep. And remember who you are to each other.”
The silence that followed was fragile, fraught with the echo of their venom and the ghost of an older, deeper affection. Zara felt Lena’s hand slowly, tentatively, find her own on Cole’s stomach. Their fingers, one scaled, one soft, intertwined. The war wasn’t over, but a truce, brokered by their mate, had begun.
Chapter 7
The truce was short-lived.
Three days later, Minister Glax arrived. He was an older Kylothian male, his scaled back a tapestry of old combat scars, his front pale and severe. He moved through the citadel’s halls with a grim purpose, flanked by four hulking warriors whose armored hides glinted dully in the torchlight.
He found them in the solarium, Cole sitting with Zara curled against his side, Lena braiding her hair nearby. The domestic scene froze under his glacial stare.
“Minister,” Lena said, rising smoothly, her voice respectful but guarded.
“Lena. Zara.” His eyes, a cold silver, swept over them before landing on Cole. “The breeder appears… adequate. I have come to verify the first implantation. The bio-scan is required.”
A handheld device was produced. The minister passed it over Zara’s lower belly. A soft, pulsing blue light glowed from within the scanner. A tight smile touched his thin lips. “The young one’s womb is seeded. Good.”
Then he moved the scanner to Lena.
It pulsed the same, unmistakable blue.
Minister Glax’s smile vanished. His silver eyes hardened into chips of ice. He lowered the device slowly, his gaze burning into Lena. “Explain this.”
Lena lifted her chin, but Zara saw the tremor in her scaled hands. “The biology… the heat was overwhelming. It was not a calculated choice.”
“Not a choice?” Glax’s voice was a low, dangerous rumble. “The human’s seed is a finite resource, carefully allocated. You were the procurer, the guardian. Not a claimant. You diverted his essence for your own barren flesh, stealing what was meant for the younger, more viable line. You interfered with the Repopulation Directive.”
“It was our biology!” Zara blurted out, stepping forward. “We couldn’t control it!”
“Silence, girl,” Glax snapped, not looking at her. His stare remained locked on Lena. “You knew the law. You will be punished for this.”
He nodded to the warriors. They stepped forward, heavy chains of black iron in their hands.
“No!” Cole’s voice cut through the room, authoritative, but the warriors did not hesitate. They moved with brutal efficiency, clamping the cold metal around Lena’s wrists and throat. She didn’t struggle, her blue eyes wide with a resigned horror.
“Lena!” Zara cried, rushing forward, but one warrior’s scaled arm barred her way.
“The punishment for sabotage of the Directive is administered in the Chamber of Torments,” Glax intoned. “You will be broken, Lena, until your rebellious spirit is ash, and your body remembers only its duty.”
As they dragged her away, Lena looked back once, her eyes meeting Zara’s. There was no fear in them, only a deep, sorrowful apology.
When they were gone, the heavy doors sealing shut, Zara turned to Cole, her face pale. “This is really bad. She may not survive her punishment.”
“What will they do to her?” Cole asked, his hand gripping hers tightly.
“They will torture her,” Zara whispered, tears streaking her soft cheeks. “For interfering with repopulation. They have… devices. They will break her mind, her will. They will make her scream until she admits she is nothing but a vessel. They will make her beg for the right to be empty.”
Chapter 8
The Chamber of Torments was a cavernous, windowless space carved from the black heart of the mountain. The air was cold and smelled of ozone and old blood. Lena, chained upright to a central pillar, watched as Minister Glax paced before her.
“Why did you take the seed of the breeder, Lena?” His voice echoed in the stone vault. “Was it jealousy? A pathetic grasp for faded youth?”
Lena took a shuddering breath, the cold chain biting into her throat. “My biology drove me mad with a desperate desire. When the heat came, it was a fire in my blood. I had no choice.” She lifted her head, a defiant gleam in her eye despite her nakedness and the bonds. “If I am to suffer for it, I suffer knowing that truth.”
Glax’s lip curled. “Then we shall see how deep that truth runs.”
He gestured. A warrior brought forward a long, slender rod, its tip crackling with a sinister blue energy. “This will stimulate the nerve clusters along your spine, where your scales meet your human skin. It will feel like your blood is being set ablaze from the inside.”
He pressed the rod to the base of her spine.
Lena’s body arched against the chains, a guttural scream tearing from her throat. The pain was incandescent, a white-hot wire threading up her backbone, searing into her brain. Her scaled flesh twitched violently.
“Why did you take the seed?” Glax demanded again, removing the rod.
Lena sagged, panting, sweat beading on her human skin. “I… told you…”
The rod touched her again, higher this time, between her shoulder blades. Another scream, longer, more ragged. Her muscles locked, her vision swimming with sparks of agony.
“Was it to spite the Directive? To claim a prize for yourself?”
“No!” she sobbed, the pain stripping her defenses raw. “It was the need! The burning, desperate need!”
The interrogation continued, each question followed by a new wave of torturous energy. They moved to more sensitive areas: the soft skin of her inner thighs, the flesh of her belly. They used clamps that bit into the delicate skin of her breasts, sending jolts of pain radiating through her core. They forced her to watch, in a polished obsidian mirror, as her body convulsed under their ministrations.
Her answers devolved into choked pleas, then into wordless, broken screams. The defiant light in her eyes flickered, dimmed, and was slowly replaced by a hollow, consuming terror. The process of breaking her will, of reducing the proud Lena to a shattered vessel, had begun.
Chapter 9
The Minister’s thin, cruel mouth twisted into a smile. “We have exhausted your back and your womb. Let us see if the soft, human parts of you hold the truth.”
He dismissed the guards with a sharp wave of his hand. “Leave us. This requires… a minister’s privacy.” The heavy stone door groaned shut, leaving Lena alone with her tormentor in the silent, cavernous chill.
He retrieved the electric wand, its tip still buzzing with malevolent blue energy. He pressed it to the hardened peak of her left nipple.
Lena’s body convulsed, a shriek ripping from her raw throat. The pain was a supernova of pure, white agony, focused on that tiny, sensitive point. It arced through her breast and into her core, making her womb clench violently.
“Please!” she sobbed, her head lolling against the cold pillar. “Mercy! I beg you!”
“The truth, Lena,” he hissed, moving the wand to her other nipple. The shock was worse, a sustained crackle that made her legs buckle in the chains. “Was it simple animal lust?”
“Yes! Gods, yes! It burns, it always burns!” she wailed, her voice breaking. “Just kill me! Please, grant me the sweet release of death! End it!”
He chuckled, a dry, rasping sound. “Not yet.”
For twenty long minutes, he was an artist of agony. He traced the wand over her trembling belly, the inside of her thighs, and finally, he pressed the humming tip directly to her swollen, exposed clit.
Lena’s scream was silent, her mouth gaping in a rictus of unbearable torment. Her body went rigid, every muscle locked in a spasm of pure, unadulterated pain. Tears streamed down her face, mixing with sweat and saliva. The relentless, focused violation broke something fundamental inside her. The proud warrior was gone, leaving only a broken vessel of suffering.
When he finally withdrew the wand, she hung limp, her breath coming in ragged, wet hitches.
“Now,” Minister Glax said, his own breathing slightly labored with excitement. He unfastened the ceremonial robe at his waist. His own Kylothian sheath, rough and scaled, began to part. “You wished for an end. I will give you one. But first, you will serve the function your traitorous body craves.”
He moved behind her, his hands gripping the harsh scales of her hips. He did not guide himself; he simply thrust forward, his hard, dog-like cock penetrating her unprepared, tortured entrance in one brutal, claiming drive.
Lena cried out, a mixture of residual pain and shocking, unwanted fullness. He fucked her with a ruthless, piston-like rhythm, the sound of his hips slapping against her scaled backside echoing in the chamber. Each thrust was a punishment, a reclamation.
“Enjoy this,” he grunted into her ear, his voice thick with perverse pleasure. “Savor the last breeding you will ever know. For when I am spent, I must end your life. I cannot have you speaking of this… private enforcement.”
His pace became frenzied, animalistic. Lena felt the familiar, terrifying swell begin at the base of his cock—the knot. It pushed against her, threatening to lock them together. As it finally forced its way inside, sealing him within her, Minister Glax let out a guttural roar. His body shuddered violently against hers. A hot, pulsing flood erupted deep into her womb, his seed jetting in thick, urgent spurts, marking her one final time.
He collapsed against her, breathing heavily, his weight pinning her to the pillar. “It is done,” he panted. The knot held them fast, the physical proof of his violent climax still pumping the last of his release into her. He reached for a sharp, ceremonial dagger sheathed on his discarded robe.
Chapter 10
The stone door crashed open, the violent sound echoing like a thunderclap. Minister Glax froze, the ceremonial dagger halfway to Lena’s exposed throat.
“Hold,” Cole’s voice was a low, absolute command. He stood framed in the doorway, his muscular form blocking the light from the hall. His hazel eyes took in the scene in one cold sweep: Lena, broken and chained, the minister’s scaled cock still locked inside her with its knot, the glint of the blade.
Panic, raw and immediate, flooded the Minister’s gaunt face. “You… you aren’t Kylothian! You have no jurisdiction here! This is a private enforcement! Leave this place!”
Cole took a step into the chamber, his boots heavy on the stone. “No.” The single word held the weight of a mountain. “I come for my mate. You do not have the authority to prevent any breeding I personally desire.”
“She is a condemned criminal! Her womb is forfeit!”
“I have claimed this woman,” Cole stated, his gaze never wavering from the Minister’s. “Her body, her womb, they are mine to fill or to spare. If she is withheld from me, I will no longer breed your selected young women. My seed stops here, tonight.”
The Minister’s face paled, his arrogance crumbling into desperate calculation. The knife trembled in his hand. “You cannot… the agreement…”
“If this is a problem,” Cole cut him off, his tone dangerously calm, “take me before the council. My agreement is with them, not with you and your… private entertainments.”
The scrambling was immediate and pathetic. Minister Glax fumbled, trying to disengage from Lena’s body, his knot still stubbornly lodged. “No, no, that won’t be necessary! The council must not be bothered with such… operational matters. A misunderstanding!” He finally pulled free with a wet, painful sound, his scaled sheath snapping shut. He hastily covered himself with his robe, his hands shaking as he tied the sash.
“You will release her to me. Now,” Cole ordered, not asking.
“Of course! A clerical error, I assure you.” The Minister gestured frantically at the chains. He produced a key, fumbling with the lock at Lena’s wrists. The manacles fell away, and Lena collapsed, her legs unable to hold her. Cole was there in an instant, catching her before she hit the stone. He swept her into his arms, her scaled back rough against his chest, her soft front smeared with sweat and other fluids. She trembled violently, a low whimper escaping her bruised lips.
Cole turned, carrying his burden toward the door. He paused, looking back at the cowering Minister. “Remember this. You touch what’s mine again, and I won’t go to the council. I’ll come for you. And I am not bound by your laws.”
He carried Lena out of the chamber of pain, into the dark corridor. Her breath hitched against his neck, hot and ragged. “J-Cole…” she whispered, her voice shattered.
“Hush,” he murmured into her hair, his own heart a furious drum against her back. “I have you. He will never touch you again.” His arms tightened around her, a vow forged in the heat of his anger and the terrifying softness of her broken form. The battle was not over, but the first prisoner had been retrieved from the abyss.
Chapter 11
The heavy door to their private quarters was already swinging open as Cole approached, his boots loud on the stone. Zara stood there, her muscular frame rigid with tension, her blue eyes wide with dread.
“What’s happened? Is she–”
Her words died as she saw the limp form in Cole’s arms. Lena’s head lolled against his shoulder, her brown hair matted with sweat and worse. The sight of her mother’s scaled back, usually a monument of strength, now looking small and battered against Cole’s chest, sent a jolt of pure fury through Zara.
“Get the basin,” Cole ordered, his voice tight as he carried Lena to the large sleeping pallet. “Warm water. Now.”
Zara moved, her protective instincts overriding the shock. She snatched the ceramic basin and pitcher, her hands trembling not from fear, but from a boiling need to *act*. She poured the water, her eyes never leaving her mother’s body as Cole laid her down with a gentleness that belied his fierce expression.
“Oh, Mother,” Zara whispered, her voice cracking. Up close, the damage was worse. Crusted blood smeared Lena’s inner thighs. Angry welts and dark bruises stood out against her pale human skin on her stomach and breasts. The scent of violation—sweat, fear, and the Minister’s pungent musk—hung in the air.
“Help me turn her,” Cole said, kneeling beside the pallet.
Together, they carefully rolled Lena onto her side. The rough, alligator-like scales of her back were scraped raw in places from the stone floor. A low, pained whimper escaped Lena’s swollen lips.
“I’ll kill him,” Zara hissed, dipping a soft cloth into the warm water. The words were a vow.
“Not tonight,” Cole said, his tone leaving no doubt that the promise was merely deferred. “Tonight, we tend to her. Pass me the cloth.”
Zara handed it to him, their fingers brushing. She watched, transfixed, as this dominant, brutal man began to wash Lena’s wounds with meticulous care. He cleaned the blood from her thighs, his touch astonishingly soft as he parted her bruised flesh. Zara fetched a clean cloth and began on the abrasions across her mother’s scaled back, wiping away the grime.
Lena’s eyes fluttered open, glazed with pain. They focused on Cole’s face above her, then drifted to Zara behind him. A single tear tracked through the dirt on her cheek. “You came back,” she rasped.
“I told you I would,” Cole murmured, rinsing the cloth. “No one takes what’s mine.”
His gaze lifted to meet Zara’s over Lena’s body. The raw intensity there—a blend of fury, possession, and a shared, desperate concern—forged a silent pact between them. Zara felt her earlier jealousy, her rivalry, dissolve in the face of this shared purpose. They were not two women fighting for one man. They were his, and he was theirs, and one of their own had been hurt.
“Does it hurt here?” Zara asked softly, her fingers tracing lightly around a deep bruise on Lena’s hip.
“Everywhere,” Lena breathed, but she managed a weak, grateful nod. “Your hands… are cool. It helps.”
Cole finished his ministrations and sat back on his heels. “The worst is cleaned. The rest is bruises and shock.” He looked at Zara, his hazel eyes holding hers. “You did well.”
The simple praise, in the midst of the nightmare, warmed something frozen inside her. Zara nodded, placing a hand on her mother’s unscaled shoulder. “We’re here, Mother. You’re safe now.”
Lena reached out, her hand finding Cole’s arm, her other grasping weakly for Zara’s. She pulled their hands together, over her body, pressing their joined grip against her heart. The connection was electric—a fragile, new bond woven from violence, rescue, and this tender, shared care. In the quiet of the chamber, with the scent of clean water and healing herbs slowly replacing the stench of torture, the three of them simply were: a unit, battered but unbroken.
Chapter 12
The fragile peace of their chamber lasted only three days.
They were gathered by the hearth, Lena propped against Cole’s side with a fur pulled to her chin, while Zara slowly worked a salve into the fading bruises on her mother’s scaled shoulder. The intimacy was raw, unspoken, and deepening by the hour.
The heavy door crashed open without ceremony. Minister Glax stood there, flanked by two stone-faced enforcers. His reptilian eyes swept over the domestic scene with contempt. The fear he’d shown before Cole was gone, replaced by a bureaucratic chill.
“Carter. Your services are required.”
Cole didn’t move, his arm tightening around Lena. “I’m occupied.”
“Your personal… arrangements are irrelevant,” Glax sneered, a scroll in his hand. “A new genetic decree has been ratified by the Survival Council. A third viable female has been identified and has reached maturity. Your duty is to breed her.”
The silence that followed was icy. Zara’s hand stilled on Lena’s back.
“A third?” Zara’s voice was dangerously low. “Who?”
“Her name is Nyssa,” Glax stated, unrolling the scroll as if reading a commodity report. “Daughter of the same maternal line. Your younger sister, Zara. Her maturation was confirmed this morning. She is being prepared now.”
Lena sat up straighter, a flare of protective fury in her blue eyes. “She’s a child.”
“She is eighteen,” Glax corrected flatly. “And her biology is now optimal. Carter will report to the Breeding Annex at dawn.” His gaze landed on Cole, full of cold triumph. “The terms of our alliance are clear. You breed the viable females we provide. Refusal voids all protection. *She*,” he jerked his chin toward Lena, “goes back to the interrogation slab.”
Cole’s jaw clenched, a muscle ticking in his cheek. The threat hung in the air, a blade over their newfound bond.
“Leave,” Cole growled.
Glax smiled, a thin, unpleasant thing. “Dawn.” He turned and left, his guards following, the door thudding shut.
The room felt colder. Zara stared at the fire, her mind reeling. A sister. One she’d hardly known, sequestered for her own safety. Now she was to be given to *her* man.
“He can’t,” Lena said, turning to Cole, her voice desperate. “You can’t. Not after… not with what we have here.”
Cole’s face was a mask of grim resolve. He looked from Lena’s pleading eyes to Zara’s stormy ones. “He can. And he will enforce it.”
“So you’ll just go?” Zara snapped, pulling her hand away. “You’ll just spread her legs and pump her full of your seed, like you did with us? Is that all this is? A duty?”
He moved fast, his hand catching her wrist. His grip was firm, unyielding. “Look at me.” She tried to pull away, but he held her fast. “Is that what you think? That what’s in this room means nothing?”
“It will mean less when you have a younger, newer vessel,” Lena whispered, the pain in her voice deeper than any physical wound.
Cole released Zara and framed Lena’s face with his hands, forcing her to hold his gaze. “Listen to me. Both of you. He wants to break us. To turn this into a transaction.” His hazel eyes burned with intensity. “He doesn’t own my cock. I do. And I decide where it goes, and what it means.”
“What are you saying?” Zara asked, her anger tinged with a fragile hope.
“I’m saying I’ll do what I must to keep us safe. To keep *her* safe,” he said, nodding to Lena. “But she won’t be a rival. She’ll be brought *into* this. Or she won’t be touched at all.”
He pulled Zara closer with his other arm, until the three of them were connected in a hard, tense knot of flesh and fear and determination. The heat of their bodies pushed back the citadel’s chill.
“You want me to share you with my own sister?” Zara breathed, the concept both alien and, in their brutal world, terrifyingly logical.
“I want us to survive,” Cole corrected, his voice a low, dominant rumble against them. “Together. That’s the only way this works. Now, do you understand?”
Lena searched his face, then slowly nodded. Zara, after a long moment, did the same. The decree was a threat, but in Cole’s ruthless calculus, it was becoming a test—one they would face as one. The night ahead was no longer for healing, but for fortification.
Chapter 13
Skye was a storm of fury and fear.
The Breeding Annex was a sterile, windowless cell. The girl stood in the center, her back to them, the pattern of her Kylothian scales a lighter gray than Zara’s or Lena’s. Her red hair was a wild mane, her body trembling not with cold, but with defiant rage. When she spun to face the door, her blue eyes, so like her sisters’, blazed with hatred.
“Get out!” she shrieked, her voice cracking. “I won’t do it! I’m not some broodmare for your human stud!”
Cole stepped inside, filling the doorway. Zara and Lena followed, flanking him, a united front. The door sealed behind them with a final thud.
“It’s not a request, Skye,” Lena said, her tone weary but firm. “It’s survival.”
“I’d rather die!”
“That,” Cole said, his voice a low rumble that cut through her hysterics, “can be arranged. But not by you.” He began to unlace his tunic, his eyes never leaving her. “You can do this the hard way, or the harder way. But it *will* happen.”
Skye lunged, not at Cole, but at Zara, her nails aimed for her sister’s face. “You traitor! You brought him here!”
Cole moved with shocking speed. He caught Skye’s wrist mid-swing, twisting her arm behind her back. She cried out, her body arching against his. “Let me go!”
“No.” He shoved her forward, bending her over the cold, metal breeding bench in the center of the room. She fought like a wild animal, bucking and spitting, her scaled back rippling with effort. “Hold her,” Cole commanded, and Zara and Lena moved in. Zara pinned Skye’s shoulders, while Lena grasped her thrashing legs. The girl’s soft, human front was pressed against the unforgiving metal.
“Don’t! Please!” Skye sobbed, the fight leaching into raw terror.
Cole undid his trousers. His cock, already thick and rigid, sprang free. He spat into his palm, slicking himself, the crude sound echoing in the room. He positioned himself at her entrance, which was clenched tight with fear and resistance. “You’re Kylothian,” he growled, leaning over her, his breath hot on her ear. “This is what you were made for. Now take it.”
He drove forward in one brutal, shearing thrust.
Skye screamed, a raw, tearing sound of violation. Her body went rigid, then shuddered. Cole didn’t pause. He set a ruthless, punishing rhythm, his hips slamming against the backs of her thighs, his grip on her hips bruising. “Fight all you want,” he grunted, each powerful drive punching the air from her lungs. “It just makes me harder. You’re gonna take my seed, little sister. You’re gonna swell with it.”
Zara watched, her own stomach tight with a confusing mix of jealousy, pity, and a dark, shared understanding. She met her mother’s eyes over Skye’s heaving back, seeing the same conflicted resolve.
Skye’s screams subsided into broken whimpers. The brutal, physical domination was breaking her, her body betraying her will, beginning to slick and warm around the relentless invasion. Cole’s pace became more possessive, more deliberate, his grunts deepening. “That’s it… give in. Your cunt is accepting me. It knows what it needs.”
He fucked her with a focused, brutal intensity, his knot beginning to swell at the base, promising an inescapable lock. His control frayed, his thrusts becoming ragged, desperate. “Gonna fill you… gonna breed you deep…” he snarled.
With a final, ground-shaking roar, he buried himself to the hilt, his knot popping inside her, locking them together. His body convulsed, and a hot, pulsing flood erupted into her deepest channel, claim after claim jetting into her unwilling womb. Skye gasped, a choked, shuddering cry torn from her as the scalding heat overwhelmed her, her own body clenching in a traitorous, violent climax that wracked her with shame. She went limp, sobbing into the metal as he pumped the last of his seed into her.
Cole stayed lodged inside her, panting, his sweat dripping onto her scaled back. He looked over at Zara and Lena, his hazel eyes dark with spent passion and unchanging intent. “She’s part of this now,” he stated, the words a law. “Like it or not.”
The room stank of sex, sweat, and conquest. The breeding was complete. The family, fractured and forced, was now irrevocably bound.
Chapter 14
The door to the Breeding Annex hissed shut behind her. Skye stumbled into the dim, stone corridor, her body screaming. Cole’s seed was a hot, thick leak down the inside of her thigh, a brutal reminder carved into her very flesh. Her legs trembled, her soft front bruised from the metal bench, her scaled back aching from the force of his possession. A ragged sob tore from her throat, swallowed by the oppressive silence.
She just had to get home. To the quiet dark of her own chamber.
She hadn’t taken ten steps when a shadow detached itself from an alcove. A Kylothian guard, his scales a dull bronze, his yellow eyes glinting. He said nothing. He simply grabbed her by the back of her neck, his rough palm scraping her sensitive human skin, and slammed her face-first against the cold wall.
“No… please, I was just—” she gasped, the breath knocked from her.
“Quiet, bitch,” he hissed, the sound dry and reptilian. His other hand shoved her tunic up, baring her. She felt the hard, scaled press of his arousal against her, the leathery sheath parting. He drove into her with a single, tearing grunt, using the slick mess Cole had left behind. He fucked her with short, punishing strokes, his hips pistoning, his chest a heavy, rasping weight against her scaled back. “Take it… take your proper due,” he snarled into her ear before his knot swelled, locking, and a rush of hot, alien seed flooded her already violated channel. He pulled out with a wet pop, shoving her away. “Move along.”
Dazed, leaking, Skye staggered forward. She turned a corner, and a second male, taller, with dark green scales, was there. He didn’t bother with the wall. He hooked a foot around her ankle, sending her crashing to the stone floor. The impact stole her voice.
He was on her before she could rise, flipping her onto her back, her soft front exposed and vulnerable. He pinned her wrists above her head with one clawed hand, his other parting her legs. His cock, emerging from its sheath, was a dark, veined intrusion. “Open,” he commanded, and when she clenched in terror, he simply forced his way in, a brutal, burning stretch that made her cry out.
“They said you were bred,” he growled, his thrusts deep and grinding, each one pounding her into the unyielding floor. “Just making sure it holds.” His climax was a series of sharp, hissing exhales, another scalding gush added to the mix inside her. He stood, wiping himself on her discarded tunic, and walked away without a backward glance.
Skye lay there, shaking, a pool of warmth spreading beneath her. She had to move. Using the wall, she hauled herself up, every muscle protesting. The main corridor to the residential spire was just ahead, a promise of sanctuary.
A hand clamped over her mouth from behind, yanking her into a storage niche. A third male, his scent of oil and musk overwhelming. “Pretty little full-blood,” he murmured, his voice a gravelly whisper. He bent her over a crate, his body covering hers completely. This one was slower, more deliberate, his penetration a deep, inexorable sink that drew a broken whimper from her throat. He set a rhythm that was no less possessive, fucking her with a focused intensity that seemed to seek the very core of her.
“Gonna give you my mark, too,” he hissed, his pace quickening, becoming frantic. His knot formed, stretching her impossibly, locking him deep. He shuddered, his whole body tensing, and with a final, guttural groan, he emptied himself. The heat was different, a claiming brand. He stayed lodged for a long minute, panting against her scaled shoulder, before he softened and slipped free.
He let her go without a word, melting back into the shadows.
Skye slumped against the crate, then slowly, painfully, straightened. She pulled her ruined tunic down. The walk to her chamber was a blur of shame and agony. Three more times. Three more floods of seed, churning inside her. She reached her door, fumbled it open, and collapsed onto the floor inside. The tears finally came, silent and hot, as her body, used and filled by four different males in under an hour, throbbed with the brutal, undeniable proof of what she now was: communal property. Breedable. Claimed.
Chapter 15
The frantic pounding on the chamber door shattered the quiet dawn. Cole was on his feet instantly, a blade already in his hand. Zara and Lena moved as one, flanking him, their bodies tense.
Cole pulled the door open.
Skye fell into the room.
Her hair was a wild tangle, her tunic torn and stained. Dried tracks of tears cut through the grime on her pale, soft cheeks. Her eyes were wide, hollow pools of panic, darting back into the corridor as if expecting pursuit. She trembled violently.
“Cole… please,” she gasped, her voice a raw scrape. She collapsed to her knees before him, her hands clutching at his legs. “Protect me. Please. I beg you for sanctuary.”
Zara stepped forward, her blue eyes sharp. “Skye? What happened?”
Skye looked up, a sob breaking free. “Since I left… since you… last night. The guards. They keep coming for me. Over and over.” Her words tumbled out in a desperate rush. “I have been bred ten times. Ten. I lost count after the fourth. They are in the halls, in the alcoves… they just take me. I am so tired. I can take no more.” She pressed her forehead against Cole’s thigh, her whole body shaking with exhaustion and terror. “I have nowhere else to go.”
A cold, silent fury settled over Cole’s features. He looked past Skye to the empty corridor, then back to the broken girl at his feet. He sheathed his blade.
“Get up,” he said, his voice low but not unkind. He bent, hooking his hands under her arms, and lifted her as if she weighed nothing. She whimpered, her legs buckling. “Zara. Lena.”
They were already moving. Zara went to the door, sealing and barring it with a heavy thud. Lena went to the sleeping pallet, pulling furs and blankets aside.
“Bring her here,” Lena commanded, her own face a mask of grim understanding.
Cole carried Skye to the pallet, laying her down gently. The contrast between his immense strength and his careful hands was stark. Skye curled in on herself, a wounded animal.
“Show us,” Zara said, kneeling beside her. Her tone was clinical, urgent.
With trembling fingers, Skye pushed her ruined tunic up her thighs. The evidence was brutal and explicit. Her soft skin was marked with bruises—grips and impacts. Between her legs was swollen, flushed an angry red, and slick with a mingled, pearlescent seep of multiple seed deposits. The distinct, musky scent of multiple Kylothian males filled the space around them.
Lena hissed, a sound of pure rage. “Animals.”
“They see her as a vessel. Unprotected. Fair game,” Cole growled, his knuckles white where he gripped the edge of the pallet. “That ends now.”
Zara fetched a basin of water and a clean cloth. She dipped the cloth, wringing it out. “This will cool the swelling,” she said, her voice softer now. She looked at Skye. “We must clean you. May I?”
Skye nodded, fresh tears leaking from her clenched eyes. Zara began to gently wash the tender flesh, wiping away the sticky proof of the night’s violations. Lena sat on Skye’s other side, stroking her matted hair back from her forehead.
“You are safe here,” Lena murmured. “No one will touch you in this room. His word is law in this space.” She glanced at Cole, a look of fierce solidarity passing between them.
Cole crouched down, bringing his face level with Skye’s. His hazel eyes held hers, unwavering. “Listen to me. You are under my protection. You are part of this family. What that means is that anyone who tries to take you again answers to me. And then to them.” He jerked his head toward Zara and Lena. “Do you understand?”
Skye’s breath hitched. She searched his face, looking for the lie, finding none. A fragile hope broke through the panic. “I understand.”
“Good.” Cole stood. “You will rest. You will heal. Zara and Lena will watch over you.” He placed a heavy, reassuring hand on her shoulder. “Sleep. The next time a guard looks at you, he’ll see my claim. And he will piss himself.”
Skye’s body finally began to unclench, the unbearable tension draining away, replaced by a profound, bone-deep weariness. Surrounded by the three of them—Cole’s dominant promise, Zara’s efficient care, Lena’s protective touch—she let her eyes close. For the first time since her ordeal began, she felt a sliver of true safety, a sanctuary forged in shared fury and an unspoken vow.
Chapter 16
The barricaded door held through the morning. Skye slept a dead, dreamless sleep under Lena’s watchful eye. Zara sharpened a blade by the window, its scrape a rhythmic promise of violence.
Cole stood from the stone bench, his movement abrupt, final. “I’m going to the Council. Now.”
Lena looked up, her blue eyes flashing. “Alone? That’s a declaration of war.”
“It’s a declaration of fact,” he said, his voice a low rumble. He strapped on his weapon belt, the leather creaking. “They used me as a stud, then threw my claimed mates to the wolves. They either didn’t know, or they didn’t care. Either way, it ends today.”
Zara sheathed her blade and stood. “We’re coming with you.”
“No.” Cole’s tone brooked no argument. He walked to the pallet, his gaze softening for a moment as it fell on Skye’s sleeping form. Then it hardened again as he looked at Lena and Zara. “You stay here. Guard her. Guard this room. If I’m not back by midday, you barricade yourselves in and kill anyone who isn’t me.” He cupped Lena’s cheek, his thumb tracing a fading bruise from Glax’s torture. “My word has to be enough for them. It has to come from me alone.”
He left without another word, the door closing with a solid thud behind him.
***
The Council chamber was a cavernous, echoing space of polished obsidian. The five Elders, ancient Kylothians whose scaled hides were dull with age, were mid-debate over grain yields when the great doors burst inward.
Cole walked in, not with a guard’s escort, but with the rolling gait of a man who owned the ground he walked on. The debate died instantly. All eyes turned to him—a human, armed, in the sacred heart of their power.
“You,” Elder Vorin, the speaker, spat the word. “You do not summon yourself here, beast-herder.”
“I do today,” Cole said, his voice carrying to the vaulted ceiling. He stopped in the center of the ring, not bowing. “I have questions. You will give me answers.”
A younger Elder, Kael, scoffed. “You are here to breed, not to interrogate your betters.”
“I bred Lena, daughter of Kyloth. I claimed her.” Cole’s hazel eyes swept over each of them. “Then your Minister, Glax, stripped her, beat her, broke her bones, and raped her while she begged for death. Why?”
A stunned silence fell. The Elders exchanged glances, genuine confusion on their weathered faces.
“Minister Glax was reprimanding her for an unauthorized pregnancy,” Vorin said slowly, as if explaining to a child. “The law is clear. The punishment was his to administer.”
“Torture and rape is not punishment. It is butchery,” Cole snarled, taking a step forward. The guards at the perimeter shifted nervously. “And what of Skye? I bred her, as you ordered. I claimed her. Within hours, she was taken by a dozen of your guards. Bred ten times, like common livestock in a pen. Why?”
This time, the confusion was tinged with disbelief. “The unmated females are available to all suitable males to ensure genetic diversity,” Kael stated, frowning. “After your initial seeding, her vessel was open to the line.”
Cole’s laugh was a cold, brutal sound. “You have no idea, do you? You sit up here in your stone tower and make your breeding schedules, and you have no fucking idea what happens in your own halls.” He pointed a thick finger at them. “She came to me this morning covered in bruises and the seed of ten different males. She was broken. She begged for sanctuary from *your* protection.”
The Elders were murmuring now, a low, concerned buzz. Vorin held up a hand for silence. “These… excesses were not sanctioned by this Council. The law states breeding rights, not relentless assault.”
“Your law is worthless,” Cole stated, his finality freezing the room. “Listen to me now. I will breed no more women. Not one. You can watch your precious bloodline die right here in this room.”
Panic flashed across Vorin’s face. “You cannot! The contract—”
“The contract is ash,” Cole interrupted, his voice dropping to a deadly calm. “You broke its spirit. You allowed my claimed partners—Lena, Zara, and now Skye—to be treated as disposable flesh. That ends. If you want my seed in any other female, these are my terms. My claimed mates are under my protection, permanently. They are *off-limits*. To punishment, to ‘genetic diversity,’ to any other male, ever. You will issue a decree. You will post guards you personally trust at my chamber door. Anyone who touches them, looks at them wrong, answers to me. And then they answer to your extinction.”
He let the ultimatum hang in the cold air. “Guaranteed protection. Or I walk out of this citadel today, and you can explain to your people why the last hope they had just left.”
Chapter 17
Elder Vorin’s scaled face tightened with contempt. “You do not dictate terms to this Council, beast-herder. You are a tool. A useful one, but a tool nonetheless. Your threats are empty.”
Cole’s hand went to his weapon belt. A dozen guards, their own hides glinting in the torchlight, materialized from the shadows, spears leveled. “Take him,” Vorin commanded. “To the Chamber of Torment. Remind him of his place.”
The guards moved with swift, brutal efficiency. Cole fought, his fist crunching into a scaled snout, his elbow breaking a throat-guard. But they were too many. Heavy cuffs clamped around his wrists and ankles, cold iron biting into his flesh. They dragged him, struggling, from the chamber.
***
The Chamber of Torment was a windowless cube of black stone, stinking of ozone and old blood. In its center stood a metal frame. They stripped him naked, the chill air raising gooseflesh on his human skin. The interrogator, a slender Kylothian named Vex, watched with detached interest. His fingers were long, tipped with sharp, metallic caps.
“The Elders wish you broken, human,” Vex said, his voice a sibilant whisper. “Your spirit, not your body. You will agree to breed without condition.”
“Go fuck yourself,” Cole snarled, his muscles straining against the bonds that spread his arms and legs wide.
Vex nodded to an attendant. “Begin.”
The first lash of the multi-tailed flogger was a line of pure fire across Cole’s back. He grunted, his head snapping forward. The second landed lower, across his thighs. The third crossed the first. The pain was systematic, exquisite, designed not to maim but to overwhelm. Crack after crack split the air, each strike painting a new, burning stripe on his skin. Sweat beaded on his brow, mingling with the blood welling from the welts.
“Yield,” Vex murmured, circling him like a predator.
“The women… are under my protection,” Cole ground out between gritted teeth.
Vex sighed, a sound of mild disappointment. He picked up a different device—two metal prods connected by coiled wires to a crackling generator. “A human male’s weakness is so… concentrated.”
He applied the first prod to the base of Cole’s cock. The second touched his scrotum.
The world dissolved into white, searing agony. It was not pain; it was a supernova erupting in his groin, a convulsive current that locked every muscle in his body in a rigid scream. Cole’s back arched violently, a raw, animal sound tearing from his throat. The smell of singed hair filled his nostrils. The current ceased.
He sagged in the bonds, panting, vomit rising in his throat.
“Their safety,” Vex prompted calmly, “or more?”
“They are *mine*,” Cole gasped, his vision swimming. “You… will not touch them.”
The shock came again. Longer this time. Cole’s body became a rigid arc of torment, his teeth cracking together. Darkness swarmed at the edges of his sight. He fought it, focusing on Lena’s smile, Zara’s fierce eyes, Skye’s trembling hand in his. The darkness won. He plunged into nothingness.
A bucket of icy water slammed him back to consciousness. He choked, coughing.
“Your stubbornness is impressive,” Vex admitted, examining his tools. “And futile.”
The cycle repeated for hours. The flogger, methodical and burning. The focused, devastating shocks to his most vulnerable flesh. Questions hissed in his ear. Promises of comfort, of the women’s safety if he just complied. Cole’s answers never changed. Each time he passed out—a second, then a third time—he was revived only to have the agony find a new peak.
He was a map of pain, covered in a glistening sheen of sweat and blood, his powerful body trembling with exhaustion. Yet his hazel eyes, when he could force them open, held the same unwavering fire.
“You… can burn me… to ash,” he rasped, his voice shredded. “My terms… stand.”
Vex paused, a flicker of something like respect crossing his alien features. The standoff was absolute. The human’s body was breaking, but his will, anchored to the three women waiting in a guarded chamber above, was proving to be made of something far stronger than flesh.
Chapter 18
Vex stood before the High Council, his slender form silhouetted against the obsidian dais. The air was thick with the scent of incense and cold stone. “He will not yield,” the interrogator reported, his sibilant voice carrying a note of genuine frustration. “The human’s body is broken. His skin is a lattice of welts. His… reproductive nerves are severely inflamed from repeated application of the current. We are coming dangerously close to destroying his ability for the necessary breeding. He says only three words: ‘They are mine.’ I do not believe he will ever say anything else.”
A low murmur rippled through the assembled Elders. Elder Vorin’s scaled fists clenched on the arm of his throne. “Then break his mind! Shatter his will!”
“With respect, Elder,” Vex replied coolly, “a shattered mind is of no use to us. A compliant, functional breeder requires a core of spirit to drive the act. We risk rendering him a hollowed-out shell, incapable of the vigorous performance your genetic program demands.”
From the crescent of seated councilors, a new voice cut through. It was Mora Dax, the lone female among them. Her scales were a dark bronze, her eyes a sharp, intelligent gold. “Then we are fools,” she stated, the words clear and hard. “We have a resource that has willingly, even eagerly, worked with us to fulfill our most vital imperative. And our response is to torture him for asking a simple thing: protection for the vessels of his seed.”
Vorin turned his glare on her. “You speak of indulgence, Mora Dax. It is weakness. The human must learn his place is to serve, not to dictate.”
“Dictate?” Mora Dax rose, her posture challenging. “He asks nothing for himself. No power, no status, no wealth. He asks only that the women we send to him—women we have already designated for this purpose—be safe from random violation and torment. Is our society so fragile that granting three females protected status will cause it to crumble?”
Another elder, a wizened figure named Krell, rasped, “It sets a precedent. Other breeders may demand the same.”
“What other breeders?” Mora Dax shot back, her voice rising. “He is the only one! The sole compatible male we have found in a generation! Our indulgence of the one breeder we possess costs us nothing and secures everything. He has proven his potency. He has taken Lena, Zara, and the new one, Skye. He fills them, again and again. And instead of rewarding this service, we have his mate tortured, and now we torture him for defending her? We are not just wrong, Vorin. We are suicidal.”
The chamber fell into a tense silence. The logic was a cold blade, cutting through tradition and pride. Krell shifted uncomfortably. “She… has a point. A broken tool is useless. And if his spirit is what fuels his… capacity, we are actively dismantling our own salvation.”
Vorin’s snout twitched with suppressed rage. He looked from Mora Dax’s defiant gaze to the resigned faces of the other Elders. The unspoken truth hung in the air: they needed Cole whole. They needed him willing.
“Very well,” Vorin snarled, the words tasting like ash. “Release him. Grant his… *mates* protected status. No guard, no citizen, is to touch them without the human’s express consent. Their chambers are to be a sanctuary.” He fixed Mora Dax with a venomous look. “You will deliver the decree personally. And you will impress upon him that this is a gift, from our boundless mercy.”
Mora Dax gave a slight, mocking bow. “Of course, Elder. I will convey your… mercy.” She turned, the click of her claws on stone echoing in the silent hall, heading not for the council chambers, but for the dungeons below.
